The BGR work party this weekend was very successful in preparing for the picnic this September 1st. On Saturday the crew raked out the picnic grove, around the white building and at the BBQ pit, and sprayed weed block and poison ivy killer around the play set and along the fence and gate where the vines were removed last week.
Jeff Jacober will cut the grass a day or two prior to the picnic to put a clean look on the whole area.
We finished on Sunday by spreading 15 bags of black mulch under the play set, and poured 30 bags of sand into all the horseshoe pits and kids’ sand boxes. I’d like to thank the crew for showing up last minute to do a hot dirty job. A shout out to Luis and Denise Batchelder, Cameron Lackpour, Jim MacDonald, Leland Graves, Jim Stakenas, Dan Murray and my son Buddy Abel. Well done.
Thanks, Bud Abel - Club President
